Kudos to Mrs. Torres for her effort, dedication, and devotion to ILT and the W.R.AP. program. She is always willing to lend a helping hand. She is this week's recipient of a Starbucks gift card!

Title I and LCFF Funds Support Chavez Students

We are fortunate to have additional support provided to our students through the use of Title I and supplemental state funds (LCFF).  Since January 2014, we have added 2 reading specialists to work with the students who need additional support to meet the Common Core State Standards and LBUSD promotion criteria.  After school tutoring and enrichment classes are also available for students to join.  We have also been able to purchase supplemental materials for the classroom teachers to use with their students.  All of our students are also going to our new computer lab to learn technology skills that will help them be ready for college and careers.  They are also learning what they need to learn for the new online SBAC assessments.  For more information about SBAC online assessments and more, please visit our Parents link at the top on our school website.

Minimum Days

There are 13 Minimum Days throughout the year. Please see your handbook or the calendar for specific dates. All 1st - 5th grade students are dismissed at 2:00. The Kindergarten schedule will be as follows:
